After-hour activities in Deer Valley are generally reserved for dining, as there are virtually no nightlife options save for a quiet drink at a hotel bar, and the après-ski scene is namely a sit-down affair. Party-goers generally hop on the free public bus and partake in the Park City nightlife scene.
You won’t find a true bar scene at Deer Valley, the resort’s demographics prefer otherwise. But you will find that Troll Hallen Lounge at the Stein Eriksen Lodge is an exceptional place for post-skiing, pre- and post-dinner drinks and appetizers. Stein Eriksen Lodge boasts 10,000 bottles of wine in their cellar, so it’s also a good place to pick a sommelier’s brain.
If you’re looking for rowdy conversations, party-fueled music and brimming hot tubs, then Deer Valley isn’t the place for you. The après-ski scene is quite mellow, and keep in mind that cocktails and beer in Utah are weak in comparison due to the state’s liquor laws. If a more relaxed setting suits your après fancy, head to the Royal Street Café at Silver Lake Lodge which serves drinks and appetizers until 5:30 p.m., and the Snow Park Lodge in the base area serves until 6 p.m. The Snow Park does have a patio, which is quite lovely on a warm spring day.
